Store Update

I don't update this blog as much since I found a cure (see the previous post). But I did go in and update the product store with the items I am currently using to maintain and I'm doing well. Check out the store on the right side bar or click HERE.

As for an update on my regimen:

  1. Eating healthy a Paleo style diet
  2. Take Zymex instead of a Femdophilus, two a night every day
  3. I try to get as much exercise as possible or stay active
  4. Lost of water, pretty much the only thing in addition to tea that I drink
  5. Last is at least 7 hours of sleep.

What are you doing currently to maintain your battle, any recommend products you use?

It's your diet

Good news ladies. I have been BV free for almost a year. The trick that did it was my diet and a combination of using the right soap (Dove) when washing, and cotton tampons. Getting rest and reducing stress has also helped. As far as diet I switched to Paleo, it's a lifestyle change not a real diet. It includes eating healthy, no processed foods, reducing sugar and dairy. Give it a try! I signed up with www.PaleoPlan.com. Hope this helps some of you ladies out there. I have been sooooo happy ever since.

A PH Balanced Tampon

RePhresh has a new product out! A tampon that claims to balance your PH levles while on your period. To me this seems too good to be true and might be considering that only 25 women were tested for it's claims. For those of us suffering from BV it could be a good product if it works. During your period your PH level becomes very high and is out of the normal 3.5 to 4.5 range. This makes for perfect conditions for BV to form (bad bacteria attributed to out of whack PH levels). I found a great link that talked more about the product and claims HERE.

I persaonlly haven't tried the product yet but stumbled upon it at Bed Bath & Beyond in the beauty section. At the current moment I am trying all natrual cotton tampons without chemicals and whiteners (I never knew about chlorine being in tampons and pads, which could be another culprit of BV and yeast infections). We will see how it goes. I am a big fan of RePhresh's other prdoucts like Pro B and the PH gel. If you have tried the product and had good results let us know. I might break down and give it a try if my use of all natural cotton products doesn't work. I haven't had a bought of BV since I last wrote, but always worry that it will come back. I have my PH test kit ready for whenever I feel like it might be coming on. I leave you with the video advertisement of the product, till next time ladies.

A Possible Cure

It's been a while since I have posted to the blog, probably too long. Hopefully I have helped you ladies out there who have been experiencing the same problem. I decided that I needed to keep up the blog and get more information out to you all about BV. With that said let's get to it...

I came back from the doctor yesterday to be diagnosed with another bout of BV! I thought I had a mild yeast infection. I didn't have the usual symptoms of BV. I think the main reason it came back was because I wasn't consistently taking my pro biotic. This pro biotic has kept me from getting BV since the summer. My OBGYN (the best I have seen to date) said I have an over production of yeast (many things can set it off, PH levels out of whack, intercourse, being sick, not getting enough rest, stress, poor diet). He said it was normal in his practice and many women get it, he prescribes Rephresh before and after menstruating and taking Jarrow's femdophilus pro biotic daily. This seems to be the best defense. The pro biotic is made especially for vaginal and urinary tract health. I have been following this prescription up until the past month when I ran out of the pro biotic, which I will never let happen again. From here out I will keep stock of this supplement. In addition I will continue to eat healthy diet (limit sugar is a biggy) and make sure I get enough sleep and eliminate stress. I highly advise trying this. The pro biotic might be pricey at $20 and up, but it's your health we are talking about. You can find the pro biotic at your local health food store or online.

Give it a try and let me know how it works, I wish you the best. So far this is the only cure that I have found.

It's Been A While - Welcome Back

Sorry all, I got super busy and let my blog go not to mention almost thought about deleting it. Good news is, I found a cure and a Doctor that knew what he was talking about. I will update you all shortly with a new post on my findings and what is believed to cause BV or yeast overgrowth.

It's Baaaack! Darn it to heck.

I haven't had an update in about a year. Well bad news is I still have been getting yeast infections and had a horrible case that turned into a skin rash in adjacent to a good old fashion women's yeast infection. I was in unbearable pain with the itching, stinging, burning and everything else that comes with it.

Yes it's back, and never went aways from my findings. This blog has helped me a lot and made me think I might have an overall immune deficiency, thyroid problem, or overall yeast infection problem causing other ailments like hormonal problems, acne flair ups, and acne scaring. Check this site out and educate yourself: http://www.yeastinfectionadvisor.com/causeofyeastinfection.html.

Also a key note, don't trust what your doctor says, do your research!!! Once again I was told by my doctor, gynecologist, and nurses that women and some people just get them a lot (deal with it basically and don't wear pantie hose or thongs...WTF, that doesn't help). Ok we weren't born with all these issues they are a product of something not being right in our system / body. Turns out it could be a lot of things like antibiotics in our food, perscription drugs, and the good we eat. I am taking an overall aggressive approach from hear out. I am back on the Nature's Cure pills (I liked the Pro B better but it's $30 a bottle for 30 pills), off birth control (another possible culprit), taking wheat grass daily, going to a nutritionist, and changing my diet (trying to get off of sweets, carbs, and dairy which all feed the fungus or yeast infection), and managing stress levels with meditation and exercise. As for my skin I am seeing a dermatologist, and esthatician, plus I have made a doctors appointment to check my thyroid, for allergies, or an immune deficiency. Wish me luck on this round. I'll continue to keep you all posted on any possible cures.

3 month pack is done will it come back?

I am days away from my first monthly bill after being on the pill for 3 months straight.I had a brief itch down below and thought wow is my bv going to come back and I need to update my fellow friends who are fighting bv. I am going to take extra precaution by using rephresh tonight so my ph levels will be balanced before it comes this coming week. I have had success with the pill! No bv for three months!!! Now is the test, let's see if it still has any affect even though I still get my period. Once I get it I'll be back on my three months of not having one. I will report back!
